Flower Essence Hunting Bejaria racemosa & Cancer
Tarflower, Bejaria racemosa, also spelled Befaria in older texts), a woody evergreen shrub in the Ericaceae family native to Florida scrub, flatwoods, and pinelands, has fragrant white-to-pinkish flowers with sticky resin on the petals/back that traps insects—hence the common name.
Trapping/Protection and Boundaries: The sticky resin that lures and captures insects suggests an essence for "trapping" or containing negative energies, intrusive thoughts, or emotional "pests." We use Bejaria racemosa to support energetic protection, shielding, or creating healthy boundaries. Tarflower Flower Essence may be useful for empaths or those feeling overwhelmed by external influences.
The Bejaria genus is also being studied in vitro as a potential cancer support phytochemical source. Importantly, research on Bejaria resinosa, indicates that its principle active component is ursolic acid.
Tumor Cell Impact: Ursolic acid has been shown in in vitro laboratory studies to exhibit cytotoxicity (cell-killing effects) against several human tumor cell lines, including MCF-7 (breast carcinoma), PC-3 (prostate carcinoma), and RKO (colon carcinoma).
Mechanism of Action: Ursolic acid is known to induce apoptosis (programmed cell death) in cancer cells, which makes it a compound of interest in the pharmacological development of new anti-cancer treatments
Our Bejaria Flower Essence can be used in conjunction with cancer treatments if approved by your doctor to support mental clarity and to help create healthy boundaries during and after cancer treatments.
We use sustainable essence collection procedures during our Flower Essence Hunting
